Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter lists the problems with the “Gas Tax Holiday” being proposed by Hillary Clinton and John McCain.
Oil companies will simply raise their price and pocket the money that taxpayers were supposed to save. The same money ($8.5 billion) the government could have used for road repair. (See below.)
